Developing Individual Education Plan Targets within Whole School Assessment Procedures

Aim: To investigate the nature of the demands arising from the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinators' (SENCO) involvement in setting, communicating and reviewing Individual Education Plan (IEP) targets in a High School, and to consider possible ways in which effective target setting for students with IEPs in a High School can help to maximise achievement through becoming an integral part of school assessment procedures.

Learning to Listen

Aim: To modify the structured teaching programme,"Learning to Listen" (devised for a special school) for use in mainstream nursery classes, to monitor the effects of the programme in improving the listening skills of young children and to examine the support, training and professional development implications for teachers using the programme.

Maths is good for you: teaching mathematics in a historical context

Aim: The prevailing modern view of mathematical ability is one which includes creativity and transcends the more limited concept of technical ability. There is, however, little widely available material which, in a simple and accessible way, introduces secondary school age children to the world of creative mathematics. This projects main aim was to bridge this gap.
