The overall aim of the project was to introduce pupils to self and peer assessment techniques to encourage them to improve the quality of their written work about historical sources.
Aim: The overall aim of the first phase of the project was to raise attainment in narrative writing for children in Year 6. The second phase involved extending the project to all children in Key Stage 2. The first phase is complete and the second phase is still being evaluated.
Aim: To find out what 8-9 year old children understand about writing and the writing process in order to:
Improve standards in the teaching and learning of writing;
Inform assessment procedures in writing; and
Engage all children as enthusiastic writers.
