Can we improve the standard of speaking and listening during group work?

Aim: The aims of our project were to improve the overall standard of speaking and listening in the classroom, enabling the children to share their ideas. We particularly wanted to improve their listening skills, to encourage the children to listen carefully to others. Our third aim was to improve on the childrens abilities to engage in conversation and be able to comment and extend on other children's ideas.

Investigating the Teaching of Writing Frames: Raising Standards In Boys' Writing

Aim: To investigate how writing frames can be used to improve the standard of boys writing.

The Achievement of boys at GCSE English

Aim: To identify strategies which might improve the achievement of boys at GCSE English.

How can we teach Year 7 pupils to work creatively and independently across the curriculum?

Aim: To teach year 7 pupils how to access/retrieve information effectively; To teach pupils strategies to assist them to work co-operatively; To encourage pupils to transfer the skills learnt in other subjects; and To inspire pupils to work creatively.

How can we encourage pupil dialogue in collaborative group work?

Aim: To investigate how different pupil groupings affect pupil dialogue and to develop and evaluate strategies and resources to support collaborative group work and pupil dialogue.
