Taking your mind for a walk - Why story time is valuable
Aim: To investigate the impact of hearing high-quality stories on Year 2 childrens writing. In particular to look for literary and other echoes, examine childrens views of story times, compare the impact of stories heard in story times with those studied in Literacy sessions as big books, investigate the presentation and style of different stories to see whether these also had an impact; and examine whether story times helped children develop their vocabulary.
Inclusion - "where do I fit in?"
Aim: To find out how perceptions held by mainstream pupils changed as a result of working alongside peers with Autism and severe and complex learning difficulties.
Science teaching and attitudes to health and environment
Aim: To examine the impact of primary science teaching on children's attitudes to, and understanding of, health and enviromental issues.
Teaching and learning Mathematics using an enquiry-based approach
Aim: The aims of the project were to answer the questions:
What is an effective way to prepare to teach mathematics using an enquiry based approach?
What would be the impact on pupil learning and attitudes of introducing an enquiry based approach to mathematics teaching in year 7?
