Who should represent our school on this programme?

Your school/college could be suitably represented on this programme by any of the following:

  • Someone new to, or interested in mentoring who would embrace the opportunity to learn how they could best support this work with NQT’s;
  • Someone who is in their first year or two of mentoring and wants assistance to ensure they are doing their best to support their mentee;
  • Someone who has been mentoring for some time but would embrace the opportunity to enhance their skills and focus more on working with NQT’s and/or make stronger links with school improvement;
  • Someone who has successfully navigated the first 2-3 years of teaching and has ambitions for a leadership role, with a focus on supporting colleagues and pedagogy;
  • A school leader who is seeking to enhance retention and drive school improvement through professionalising CPDL in general, and mentoring and coaching in particular (or a colleague delegated by them)*;
  • A colleague who is active in the Teaching School Alliance (TSA) or a local SCITT, with a specific interest in teacher training, increasing the depth of mentoring and the Early Careers Framework (ECF)*;
  • Someone interested in tapping into, or creating, sustainable local networks of like-minded professionals.

*each person will need to have the capacity to formally mentor one NQT or RCT throughout the programme.
