Research Lesson Study (RLS)

What is RLS?

CUREE's Research Lesson Study (RLS), is a collaborative and engaging way to work and develop both yours and your colleagues’ tRLS structureeaching practice in the aim of continued professional development.

How does RLS do this?

Through RLS teachers collaborativley select an overarching goal and related research question to explore, which provides focus and direction for work. There are a couple of stages involed within this:

  • Stage one: Identify pupil needs
  • Stage two: Narrowing doen pupil needs to focus on and agreeing an approach to test/develop through lesson study.

This aim is achieved by teachers working collaboratively in small groups to plan, teach, observe lessons and collectively analyse learning and teaching.

How does RLS benefit you?

  • Part of closing the gap (click here to find out more on CUREE's closing the gap project)
