Philippa delivered a well-received keynote at the 24th International Congress for School Effectiveness and Improvement in Cyprus in January. This annual event provides an opportunity for researchers, policy-makers and teachers from all over the world to come together and share a common commitment to develop more efficient and equitable education. Philippa shared CUREE’s research work on practitioner engagement in and/or with research. Based on the research, her speech explored the links between practitioner research engagement and positive student outcomes and raised a number of implications for policy and practice in education. Through the event, CUREE’s work was made widely known to delegates from across the globe and we had good opportunities to network, make connections for future research and share approaches with others pursuing similar work.
