Lisa and Clare will lead the first Effective Mentoring and Coaching session for a group of local secondary school teachers and Barnsley Local Authority education personnel in Barnsley on 16th September. Packed with interactive activities, this first full day session will take all participants on a learning journey starting with considering the research evidence for coaching, exploring the similarity and differences between alternative approaches to coaching and building the skills and understanding needed to use coaching as a key school improvement tool. The session, along with two follow up half day sessions, will support Barnsley LA in the introduction of their Future Learning Framework – an initiative by the secondary leaders designed to improve teaching and learning in the new Advanced Learning Centres and provide the professional development to support the many changes Barnsley teachers face.
