In our search to make research evidence more accessible to leaders and practitioners, CUREE has produced a number of online diagrams which bring together links to high quality research for a range of practitioners. Here are some examples
Route Map
Route maps are interactive resources for locating research resources where practitioners can be assured that the materials are based on sound evidence. These web-based resources and tools are from a variety of organisations that support teachers, school leaders and other practitioners in addressing the following questions:
- Where can I find tools and activities to involve or support my colleagues in using research and evidence?
- Where can I explore why things do and don’t work and what is the underpinning rationale and theory?
- Where can I find practitioner friendly research summaries?
Freely available resources on the Web are getting scarcer as Government removes or consolidates the sites. We are trying to replace these (unfortunately, not free) - click here for more information
Petal Diagram
The petal diagram provides easy to access links to the findings of the three year Building the Evidence Base project CUREE has undertaken for the QCDA. Findings cover a wide range of areas that impact on curriculum design including:
- CPD and curriculum development
- Participation and engagement
- Dialogue and group work
- Wellbeing and achievement
- Constructing challenge
The petal diagram can be found here.
Barrel Diagram
The barrel diagram features products designed to raise awareness of and practitioners’ engagement with research. Areas covered include:
- Investigating the issues of interest to practitioners
- Securing understanding of core facts and issues
- Enabling practitioners to relate products to their own experiences
- Encoraging and/or supporting practitioners in interpreting, testing and refining strategies from research in their own context.
The barrel diagram can be downloaded here. [PDF, 454KB]
